USB HID device is not redirected to terminal server using RemoteFX

Hello,

could you please give some advices on a problem with RemoteFX redirection of USB devices.

RemoteFX-USB-Device redirection local group policy was activated on Windows 10 Pro and this registry item was added for the redirection of HID devices:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE // SOFTWARE // POLICIES // MICROSOFT // WINDOWS NT // TERMINAL SERVICES // CLIENT // UsbSelectDeviceByInterfaces

New string and value
DN_HID_Devices: {4D1E55B2-F16F-11CF-88CB-001111000030}

The HID device (Grundig foot pedal) was then chosen in "Other supported RemoteFX USB devices" in RDP settings. When the RDP session is started, this device does not appear on the terminal server (Windows Server 2012). It is still shown on the client PC.

Do you have any ideas for the solution of this problem?

In general, such solution works already several years at our PCs and on PCs of our customers to redirect HID devices like Philips SpeechMike microphone or Grundig foot pedals to the terminal server.

I have tried the following:

1. Checked Active Directory rules.

2. Updated the USB drivers on the client PC

3. When I check HID devices in Device Manager on the server, then the following device is shown: USB Input Device with VID "0E0F" and PID "0003". I have found on http://www.linux-usb.org/usb.ids that this device belongs to VMWare virtual mouse.

When I deactivate or deinstall this device and start the new RDP session, then this device appears again.

Could this VMWare virtual mouse be the reason for the problem?

Best regards,

Michael
