System Drive Lockdown

Hi There

2012 R2 RDS

Setup as member server in domain.
I am trying to prevent access to the C drive and can't use the GPO as this then stops access to the user folders.

Even though I am using a profile disk and all user bits live there, it still creates a shortcut/link it seems in c:\users which then redirects to the Profile disk.  This is enough to stop it all working.

So two questions really.

1  How do I do this
2  Why oh Why!  Surely a RDS server should create sandboxed sessions with app access and "local to the user" folders and by definition not allow access outside of the user envelope.  I know this could be done with a VM style but this is insane that it's not written like this by default.  No-one is ever going to want their users accessing the server. Or .... am I missing something?

User error?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Bert
