I'm in need of a VDI solution for our Off-shore Devs and Server 2012 RDS looks to like it ticks all the boxes.
One thing I can't find anything definitive on is the use of Visual Studio for web dev on the pooled VMs. I've tried deploying an RDS session-based solution for this previously and it failed due to the admin requirements and general complications with multi session-based use of IIS.
Seeing as one of the core differences between personal and pooled VMs is the admin privileges, I see this issue rearing it's head again with pooled VMs. Given that I can create a hybrid of personal and pooled VMs, this wouldn't be a huge issue. I would just like to know beforehand to save a heap of troubleshooting and testing if someone is definitively able to say whether I can use VS for this purpose with pooled VMs or not?
As a non-user of VS myself, I don't know the intricacies of how it's used, however I can get more info if needed.
If anyone can shed light on this I would be hugely grateful.
