Hi,
I can connect to a Windows 7 Ultimate machine from Remote Desktop for Mac and iOS, but I'm unable to connect to that same machine from my Windows computers. Here are the details:
1) When I try to connect from my Windows clients (Windows 7, Windows 8.1), I see the login prompt, I see a cert warning (the server is configured with a self-signed cert), I click Yes to connect anyway, and then remote desktop client vanishes. I know it's not a firewall issue, because login prompt and cert warning indicate I'm able to reach the server, just can't establish a connection.
2) From these same machines, I can connect to a different server (Windows 2008) just fine. Note - the Windows 2008 server has a domain name and uses a cert issued from a trusted authority, whereas I connect to the server I can't reach via IP address and it uses a self-signed cert for SSL.
3) I can connect just fine using the Remote Desktop Client on my iPad and my Macbook Pro, so I know the server can is accessible and configured accept remote desktop connections.
4) I've tried installing the self-signed cert as a trusted root authority on the clients, but that doesn't seem to make the warning go away.
Any ideas on what the problem might be, or where I can find additional details on why the connection aborts?
Thanks,
Sean
