I've got a couple of Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 systems on which I'm having trouble connecting to an "admin" RDP session. I'm trying to use the "Run Advertised Programs" Control Panel applet for Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007, and it simply says "No programs are available to run from a Terminal Services session."
Under normal circumstances, and on certain other servers, I am able to successfully connect using the /admin parameter with mstsc.exe, and view the contents of the Control Panel applet. Unfortunately, in this scenario, I'm using the /admin switch, and I'm still getting the message, which confirms to me that I am not actually connected to an administrative session.
I've used the Remote Desktop Service Manager tool to verify that no one else is logged onto the target server. I've logged on/off repeatedly, using the /admin switch, and omitting it.
The server in question is just running Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager 2010, so it's nothing really too special or weird. Any thoughts on how to begin troubleshooting this issue?
