Windows Sever 2008 R2 - Server bogs down and eventually freezes when initiating a RDP session

Server role:

File Sharing, shares AD role with older server running Server 2003

For the last few weeks I have been experiencing a strange issue, whenever I log onto my server using either the Administrator Account or my personal account w/Full Admin rights the Server bogs down to the point where users can't access their mapped drives from this server, if while using RPD on the Server I go to "Computer" to browse the Hard Disk containing the shared files for the users the drive itself will have no icon just its designated "E" drive letter will appear and will give me the "spinning circle" aka hour glass. If I go to the server room I can log on directly with the same accounts with no problem.

Info that may help diagnosing:

On the network I a modified a Group poloicy on the all the workstations allowing me to initiate Remote assistance quickly using this procedure:

The only changes to the server was:

Added "Remote assistance" feature so I can perform assistance to a user from home while logged on to server with Logmein.
